Found provides a secure connector using the Model Context Protocol (MCP), an open standard that allows authorized AI assistants like Claude and ChatGPT to access your account data. This integration enables your AI tool to retrieve real-time information regarding your accounts, balances, and transaction history to assist with business workflows.
The Found connector is a hosted, read-only server that facilitates a secure link between your AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) and your Found business account. Once authenticated, the AI can retrieve data to answer specific inquiries regarding your financial activity, such as balance checks or spending summaries. You can ask questions like "What's my balance?" or "How much did I spend on supplies last month?" and the AI will securely pull in live data straight from Found to answer your question.
Read-Only Access: The connector is strictly limited to data retrieval. The AI assistant cannot initiate transfers, move money between pockets, modify account settings, or execute payments.
OAuth Authentication: Found utilizes the OAuth standard for authentication. You will never be asked to share your Found password directly with an AI tool; instead, you authorize access through Found’s secure login portal.
Easy setup — Connect by logging in to your Found account, no API keys to manage.
Built for AI — Data is formatted so AI assistants can answer accurately and quickly.
Stays in sync — Every question pulls live data, so balances and transactions are always up to date. However, users should be aware that "Current Balance" and "Available Balance" may differ due to pending transactions.
Check balances — Get totals across your business and individual pockets (Primary, Taxes, Custom pockets).
Review transactions — Pull transaction history over any date range, with counterparty, method, and memo details.
Ask the Found Assistant — Get answers about taxes, invoices, spending patterns, and more, without leaving your AI tool.
Bring Found into your workflow — Combine Found data with the rest of what your AI assistant can do — drafting emails, building reports, or summarizing your week.
The Found connector works anywhere you can use an MCP server. The easiest way to set it up is in Claude or ChatGPT.
In Claude: open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector.
Name: Found
MCP server URL: https://my.found.com/api/mcp
Save the connector. Adding the MCP does not give the AI access to your Found data yet — that happens at login in the next step.
The AI tool will prompt you to log in via OAuth. Sign in with your Found credentials and approve the requested permissions. Sessions stay active for a limited time on the same chat thread; after that, you may be asked to authenticate again.
That's it, you're connected. Try a prompt like "What's my Found balance?" to confirm everything is working.
Tool Name | Description | Sample Prompts |
|---|---|---|
list_businesses | Shows all the businesses you have access to in Found. For each one, you'll see its name, current status, and how much money is available in your account. | • "Show me all my businesses on Found." • "What's the total balance across all my businesses?" |
list_accounts | Shows the individual pockets inside one of your businesses — for example, separate pockets for taxes, savings, or operating funds. You'll see each pocket's name, type, account number, and balance. | • "How much is in my Taxes pocket right now?" • "Show me all my account balances." |
list_transactions | Shows the transactions for one of your businesses over a date range you choose. Money coming in shows as positive, money going out shows as negative, and each transaction includes details like who it was with, how it was sent, and any memo. | • "Show me my transactions from the last 30 days." • "Did I receive a wire to my Found account this month?" |
ask_assistant | Ask the Found Assistant a question about the business. Supports questions about account balances, transactions, tax info, invoices, and more. | • "Ask the Found Assistant how much I should set aside for taxes this quarter." • "Ask Found how much I spent on software subscriptions in April." |
Data Privacy: Data retrieved via the connector is provided directly to your AI tool. The storage and usage of that data are governed by the privacy policy of the specific AI provider (e.g., Anthropic or OpenAI). Found does not share this data with unauthorized third parties.
Verification: Always confirm you are connecting to the official Found endpoint. Found will never request your credentials through third-party servers.
Final Review: AI-generated responses should be treated as drafts. Always verify critical balances, tax figures, and transaction details within the official Found application before taking action.
Revocation: You may revoke AI access at any time through the "Apps & Connectors" section of your AI tool’s settings.
The login window doesn't appear / I can't authenticate. Make sure pop-ups are allowed for your AI tool. If the OAuth window is blocked or closed too early, remove the connector and re-add it. Confirm the MCP URL is exactly https://my.found.com/api/mcp.
I don't see any transactions in my response. By default, list_transactions returns the last 30 days. If you've had no activity in that window, ask for a wider range — for example, "Show me transactions in the last 6 months" or "List transactions from January 1 through April 30, 2026."
I don't see all my businesses. The connector only shows businesses where you have admin access. If a business is missing, confirm your role in that business in the Found app. Archived businesses are excluded by default.
My balance in the AI looks different from the Found app. Available balance and current balance can differ because of pending transactions. The connector returns both — ask your AI to compare them, or open the Found app to see pending activity in detail.
How do I disconnect or revoke access? Disconnect the connector inside your AI tool's settings (in Claude: Settings → Connectors; in ChatGPT: Settings → Apps & Connectors).
Is my data shared with anyone? The connector returns data directly to your AI tool in response to your prompts. It does not share data with third parties. How your AI tool stores or uses that data is governed by that tool's privacy policy.
Can the AI move money or send payments through the connector? No. The connector is read-only. To move money, transfer between pockets, or pay someone, do it directly in the Found app.
Which AI tools work with the Found connector? Any AI tool that supports MCP, including Claude (web, desktop, and mobile) and ChatGPT. Setup steps vary slightly — refer to your AI tool's documentation for adding a custom MCP connector.
Who do I contact for help? If you run into issues, reach out to Found support from the Found app or at support@found.com.
