Can I deposit cash into my Found account?

Found account holders can easily deposit cash at over 80,000 retail locations nationwide, and funds will be available in your Found account in seconds.

Using your Found app, you can find a participating retail location near you, generate a unique barcode for that location, and deposit your cash with the cashier. No bank needed!

To deposit cash, follow these steps: 

  • Tap Add Money in your Found mobile app. 

  • Choose Cash deposit from the menu.

  • Use the map to find a convenient local participating retail location.

  • Once you’ve arrived at the location, tap Get barcode. Barcodes are valid for 15 minutes.

  • Show the unique barcode to the cashier and have them scan it. Once scanned, they can accept your cash for deposit.

Once the transaction is complete, we recommend requesting a receipt from the cashier. Your deposit should appear in your Found account within seconds.

FAQ

Can I swipe my card instead of scanning the barcode? 

In order to successfully deposit cash into your Found account, the merchant will need to scan the barcode to begin the deposit transaction.

If you’re asked to swipe or insert your card for the deposit, tell the cashier that they should scan the barcode instead of trying to swipe your card.

Is there a fee to deposit cash? 

There is a $2 fee to complete a cash deposit. This fee will be deducted from the amount deposited. This means that if you go to deposit $100 into your Found account, $98 would be added to your account balance. 

What are the limits for cash deposits?

With cash deposits, you can deposit up to $2,000 per rolling 7 days, and up to $4,000 per rolling 30 days. The minimum cash deposit size must be $5. Maximum deposit amounts may be limited by the merchant.
