Protect your Found account from phishing attempts

Protect your Found account from phishing attempts

Phishing is when someone attempts to gain access to your Found account by sending you a text message or email that asks for your personal, private information.

These phishing messages may pressure you to act quickly, threaten account suspension, or ask for sensitive information that a real Found employee would not request over the phone.

Members of the Found team will never ask you for the one-time password sent to your email/phone number, your account password, or your PIN. If you receive a message requesting this information, reach out to Found’s Customer Experience team through your app or the phone number on the back of your Found card to confirm if it is valid.

How do I avoid getting phished?

Look out for suspicious emails or messages, particularly unsolicited text messages, social media DMs, or phone calls. If you receive an unusual message from someone purporting to be Found, guard against providing any of the above information: one-time password, account password, or PIN.

I think I've been phished. What can I do?

If you believe that you gave your information to a bad actor, you may still be able to secure your account. Here are some things you can do:

  • If you’re able to log into your account, you can secure your account by resetting your password and PIN.

  • Lock your cards to prevent them from being used. You can also request a new physical card, receive a new primary virtual card number, or archive any additional virtual cards.

  • If you’re unable to log into your account, contact Found immediately to secure your account.
