How do I send a wire transfer?

Whether you’re paying a contractor, a business, or a supplier, domestic wire transfers are a secure and convenient way to move money quickly between accounts within the United States.

Users with established Found accounts can send domestic wire transfers. Here’s how:

  1. Select Move money from the main Banking overview page.

  2. Choose Send a domestic wire.

  3. Select a recipient from your existing contacts, or add a new recipient as a contact.

  4. Enter the recipient’s routing and account number, address, and the wire amount.

  5. Enter any optional wire instructions which will be sent with the wire.

  6. Enter an optional bookkeeping note, this will only be visible to you.

  7. Tap Next when ready to review and confirm all of your entered wire transfer details.

  8. Select Send wire to submit your wire.

When will the recipient receive the wire?

Wire requests must be submitted by 2:30 PM ET in order to be processed the same business day. Please note that if your wire requires additional review, it may not go out the same day.

Once processed and sent, most receiving banks will receive and process wires within 1 business day, but sometimes it can take longer for the funds to arrive in your recipient's bank account.

If it’s been more than 2-3 business days, and your wire recipient says they have not seen the wire arrive, you can provide them with the IMAD/OMAD confirmation number available on your wire transaction details. The receiving financial institution can use the IMAD/OMAD confirmation number to conduct a search for the wire.

Can I cancel a wire I’ve sent?

Wires can be canceled before they are submitted for processing. If your outgoing wire is pending and able to be canceled, you can cancel the wire by selecting the wire within your Found activity and selecting Cancel.

If an option to cancel is not visible, the wire has already been submitted and can no longer be canceled. In this situation, please reach out to the recipient you sent this payment to.

What are the fees to send a wire?

The fee to send a wire is $15 per outgoing wire transaction. If you cancel the wire before it has been processed, the $15 fee will be refunded.

If the recipient's financial institution does not accept the wire and returns the wire, the $15 will not be refunded by Found but the wire amount will be returned to your Found balance. Some receiving banks may also deduct a fee prior to returning the wire.

Why does the wire I’ve sent still show as pending?

Wire requests must be submitted by 2:30 PM ET each business day in order to be processed the same business day, if you submit a wire after this cut-off, the wire will show as pending.

If your wire requires additional review or verification, it may not go out the same day, and will show pending.

Is there a confirmation number for the wire that I’ve sent?

Once a wire has been processed and sent, you can view the IMAD/OMAD confirmation number in the Transaction details section of the wire’s activity detail page.

How do I send a wire internationally?

At this time, Found only supports sending domestic wires. You will not be able to send a wire internationally.

How do I send a wire to another Found user?

If you need to send funds to another Found user, you can do so by sending them a payment via Found. Not only are these transfers completed instantaneously, they’re completely free.

If you attempt to send a wire to another Found user or an account with a Piermont Bank routing number, Found will prompt you to send a free standard bank transfer instead.
