At Found, we’re building a modern business banking platform—and that means way more than just banking. Our product spans money movement, bookkeeping, taxes, and everything in between. We’re here to be the financial back office for self-employed folks, and engineering is the engine that powers it all.
This blog is our way of sharing how we build. We’ll talk about what’s working, what’s not, and everything we’re learning as we go. It’s part build log, part behind-the-scenes, and part “things we wish we’d known sooner.”
Here’s some of what we plan to write about:
Technical Deep Dives – The guts of our system architecture, how we scale our infra, and what it takes to build systems that move money, auto-categorize transactions, and file taxes.
Lessons Learned – Shipping fast means learning fast. We’ll share some of the mistakes, surprises, and tradeoffs we’ve encountered.
Security & Risk – How we think about fraud, compliance, and customer trust when you’re dealing with real money.
Automation & Efficiency – We obsess over time saved for our customers. Expect stories about how we eliminate manual work in taxes and bookkeeping.
Culture & Collaboration – How we work together, how our team is structured, and how we think about growth (yours and ours).
Found’s engineering culture is shaped by a few key principles:
Think big, start small – We’re ambitious, but grounded. We start with quick wins and build toward big ideas.
Act like a founder – Everyone’s empowered to move the company forward. No silos, no “not my job.”
Be a tailwind – Our job is to make our customers’ lives easier. If we’re doing it right, we fade into the background.
Succeed together – No heroes, no egos. We solve problems as a team and celebrate wins together.
These values show up in everything we do—from the systems we design to how we give feedback to each other.
We’ve got a lot of stories to tell. From the early days of building our money movement stack, to how we’re scaling our approach to automated bookkeeping and tax prep—we’ll be digging into all of it in future posts.
If that sounds exciting, we’re hiring. Head over to our careers page if you want to help build with us.
